1. Dark times reveal your true friends.

Accept it. Some people are just acquaintances and you can’t really rely on them.

2. Be kind to everyone.

Everyone is fighting a battle you do not know about.

3. We’re all just a bunch of addicts struggling with our drug of choice.

It could be a person, a thing, or anything but they all make us insane.

4. No matter how tough life gets, never stop smiling.

Always remember that you’re not alone and that you do not own all the problems in the world. It will always get better and you’re going to survive. There’s so much more to life than all those rocky roads.

5. Be careful of your words.

Once they are said, they cannot be taken back. It stabs mightier than a sword.

6. What comes around goes around.

Your karma may not come to you the soonest but trust me, it will come. It is surely on its way to get back on you. ALWAYS do good and good things will happen to your life.

7. People aren’t always who they claim to be.

People’s identity is revealed by the things they say, things they do, or the way they treat people. You can’t hide behind religion, other people, or a title to hide who you are.

8. Always give your best shot.

True enough that life is short so you better give your all in everything that you do. Because if not, you’re going to regret not doing something for the rest of your life.

9. The thing is, other people’s opinions doesn’t pay your bills.

Cuz hun, NO, their opinions don’t matter.

10. People change.

This is ancient but I’ve seen how true it is for the 16 years of living. As you grow up, your perspective in life changes, your priorities changes, and you can’t hold any grudges about the past.

11. No matter what happens in your life, your family is your best confidant.

With all honestly, I’m really not close/too open with my family so I don’t expect them to be the first persons to console me at hard times. But then, when things suddenly got rocky, they were there for me — not just physically but emotionally too.

12. Learn to say ‘no’.

You have to learn to say ‘no’ without explaining yourself and feeling guilty. Saying ‘yes’ to happiness means saying ‘no’ to things or people that stresses you out. Remember, you can still be a good person with a kind heart and still decline.

13. Rejection is protection.

UH-HUH. You don’t need a man in your life to be happy. Stand on your own and love yourself. PLUS, loving yourself costs less than dinner for two! (TAKE IT FROM ME!!!! HAHAHA char)

14. There are plenty of fish in the sea.

Don’t freak out. Accept that sometimes people are meant to just pass by your life to teach you a lesson. Do not settle for anything less than what you deserve.

15. Your mom is probably right.

Even though you don’t want to admit it, looking back you’ll realize that she was pretty much right about everything.

16. Accept who you are.

You will never be truly happy if you cannot accept your flaws and imperfections. Self-love should be strong. Make yourself a priority because there’s no one is supposed to do it aside from you.
